Cheers! Or not

Beer drinkers in England may soon be getting the shakes.

A combination of factors, including rapid population growth, expanding food needs and unpredictable weather patterns, is heralding a global water crisis. And the brewing industry, which accounts for about 22 per cent of global fresh water consumption, is increasingly concerned about what will happen if and when the taps run dry, according to The Times of London.

Brewers are among the most vulnerable since a pint of beer in Britain is up to 95 per cent water. Drinkers there have been warned that, as water supplies dry up, prices could rise and supplies could be threatened.

It may not be jolly ol’ England for long.
